Chapter Twelve

It Can Happen to You

You don’t have to be “somebody special” to receive a healing miracle. God is no respecter of persons. (See Acts 10:34.) What He will do for one person, He will do for another. What Jesus will do for somebody else, He will do for you. In this chapter, I want to share with you healing miracles that have resulted from the use of Jesus’ name, in order to strengthen your faith to receive your miracle.

The second great benefit of the Lord is His healing power. “Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The Christ of the gospel still heals today. I know: I have been healed by Christ; I have witnessed thousands of others who have also been healed.

I know there is a great deal of controversy on the subject of healing from Christ. There always has been, and probably there always will be. The skeptics and rank doubters deny Christ performs miracles of healing today. But those of us who have believed and received, know Christ still performs vital miracles today in this generation.

My own mother’s healing was the first one to make an impact upon my life. That was in 1948, and it brought my family to Jesus. Then the Lord healed my baby daughter’s clubbed feet and raised up my own sweetheart, my wife, in 1953, when she was stricken with rheumatic fever.

The name of Jesus is the healing name. When we invoke His name in ministry to the sick, it is the same as if Jesus Himself were present. He and His name are one. When the revelation of the power of Jesus’ name came to my life, I was changed for life, and life was changed for me. It was as though heaven suddenly came into my life.

As I have already mentioned, in the name of Jesus I have commanded deaf spirits to leave hundreds of people who were totally deaf in one or both ears. Almost every time, the deafness has departed and the people have been healed.

Coming against the cursed disease of cancer many times, I have spoken in the authoritative name of Jesus against this foul oppression and many testimonies have been received from those healed miraculously of cancer. These healings have been real, definite miracles for the glory and praise of His name.

I have written on the flyleaf of my Bible these words: “I do not need faith to use the name of Jesus; all I need is boldness to use this name that belongs to me.”

It has been simply wonderful to speak in the name of Jesus against all manner of diseases, bondages, and problems, and see the results. This name of Jesus belongs to you also. Use it boldly! You may tremble when you use the name, but remember that the power is in that name, and be fearless! I bless the Lord Who healeth all our diseases!
